ELIGIBILITY—MASTER CLASSES

Performing Participants
Piano students in grades 6-12 who are playing advanced repertoire.
Student Observers
No audition tape is required. Observers attend all events but do not perform in master classes. Any student (grades 5-12) is eligible.

NOTES

• Applicants who did not perform in TCYA master classes in 2007 must submit a tape or CD containing performances of two compositions of advanced repertoire, no later than May 15, 2008. Please mark all entries clearly with your name and the specifics of the repertoire submitted (title, movement etc.).
  2007 participants who wish to return this year must notify TCYA of their intentions by the same date.
• Several TCYA members will be chosen to perform a concerto movement with the Plano Symphony Orchestra on June 18. To be considered for this event, participants must submit a tape or CD of one movement of any concerto from the standard repertory (excluding slow movements).
• Upon notification of acceptance, a non-refundable deposit of half tuition is required of all applicants. The balance is due at the opening event of TCYA, Sunday, June 15, 2008. Please make checks payable to TCYA and mail to 4428 Boston Drive, Plano, Texas 75093-5431.

PREPARATION

 

Participants should be prepared to perform two or three pieces of contrasting styles in a master class setting. Any concerto movement is acceptable. All music must be memorized.
